Graham Messervy-Whiting CBE

Associate Fellow

Graham Messervy-Whiting is an Associate Fellow at RUSI, attached to the European Security Programme and the Homeland Security & Resilience Department.

He is deputy director of the Centre for Studies in Security and Diplomacy (CSSD), European Research Institute at the University of Birmingham, having been appointed to this post after a career in the UK Armed Forces.

From 2000-03 he was chief of staff of the EU Military Staff.

He has also served as assistant director of operations, GCHQ; director of planning, Western European Union; director overseas defence commitments, MOD; 1992-93 military adviser to Lord Owen (co-chairman International Conference on Former Yugoslavia); briefing officer to General Galvin (Supreme Allied Commander Europe).
