RUSI is pleased to invite you to this event examining the future of UK sanctions policy following Brexit, kindly hosted by Dechert LLP.
As the UK seeks to leave the European Union its relations with Europe and the rest of the world will change significantly. This will include establishing a sanctions policy framework separate from the EU to ensure that the UK can continue to play a central role in global sanctions design and implementation. This event will examine how a post-Brexit sanctions policy can continue to support foreign policy objectives and national security needs, as well as the possible implications for existing sanctions commitments, transatlantic sanctions coordination and challenges for the private sector.
- Dr Benjamin Kienzle, Lecturer in Defence Studies, King's College London
- Roger Matthews, Senior Director, International Trade, EU and Government Relations, Dechert LLP
- Tom Keatinge, Director, Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies, RUSI
The session will be chaired by Emil Dall, Research Fellow of RUSI's Proliferation and Nuclear Policy programme. Further speakers are to be confirmed.
The event is held in conjunction with the launch of a new RUSI study on Challenges to EU-US Sanctions Design and Implementation.
This event is by invitation only. To express your interest in attending or for more information please contact RUSIevents@rusi.org.
